• Ekocoke™’s values-centered and process-oriented management has the experience, expertice and synergy to maximize the value and profitability for all stakeholders of Ekocoke™ and its related products and technologies. With combined professional management experience of over 250 years, the Ekocoke™ team has created, managed and operated numerous successful businesses. This experience includes initiating, constructing, and operating more than 150 industrial complexes, with the largest project being a $4.5 billion facility.  Ekocoke™’s Management Team is organized into principal Directorships responsible for key functional processes in the organization.   

C. William Arrington, PhD

C. W. Arrington is the Director of Human and Capital Resources at Ekocoke LLC.  Dr. Arrington has managed start-ups and large public and private firms for more than 50 years. These companies range in size from just a few people to those with thousands of employees and billions of dollars in revenue. Dr. Arrington’s team building skills include corporate development from R&D through sales, focusing on air, water, energy, mining, logistics, environment, technology and infrastructure.

Robert V. Murton,  AcctD

Robert V. Murton is Ekocoke LLC’s Director of Risk Management.  With 50 years of related experience, Mr. Murton serves as the company’s principal product contractor and risk manager. After accreditation by the London School of Accountancy, his early career encompassed performance guarantees, a P&C insurance  practice and a portfolio risk manager. Later, in South Africa, Mr. Murton was a founder of one of the largest specialty insurance companies in the world.  He is also a trustee of numerous and extensive coal properties in the Gulf States. 

Raymond Val Morris, MstE

Val Morris is the Director of Manufacturing Design-Build for Ekocoke LLC.  Having more than three decades of experience in industrial system designs, including power and energy control systems, Mr. Morris serves as head manufacturing and facilities designer of Ekocoke LLC’s industrial projects. He designed, built and operated the Ekocoke™ pilot production facilities.  Mr. Morris also designed the larger full-scale production plant and the R&D Testing and Formulation Center. 

Steve Fausett, M.CE

Steve Fausett is Ekocoke LLC’s President and Managing Director.  He is also Director of Operations and Construction.  Raised in southern Utah coal country, he is a 30-year veteran of industrial construction, commissioning and operations. He is a noted expert in critical path management and logistics.  Mr. Fausett holds a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering and is risk rated to manage multi-billion dollar projects.

Jay Carlson, MBA

Jay Carlson is the Director of Finance and Chief Economist at Ekocoke LLC. Mr. Carlson has 30 years of senior business leadership and financial experience ranging from being a Venture Capitalist to a licensed Wall Street principal. In addition, Mr. Carlson has engaged in building, leading and selling technology companies.  He holds advanced degrees in planning and financial economics.

Marilyn Peterson, JD MBA CPA

Marilyn Peterson is the Director of Business Development and Corporate Strategy for Ekocoke LLC.  Ms. Peterson serves as strategy leader and investment advisor. She has been a successful entrepreneur for 35 years, focusing on land acquisition and development throughout the United States.  With a degree in law, an MBA, and certified as a public accountant, Ms. Peterson is the general business advisor for Ekocoke LLC, with an emphasis on financial matters.

Kevin Smith

Kevin Smith is Ekocoke LLC’s Director of Marketing, and the Executive Director of the Ekocoke™ China Strategy. Mr. Smith has over 30 years of entrepreneurial and business leadership experience with both small start-ups and larger multi-national corporate ventures into new markets, including work in the US, Europe and China.  Mr. Smith has lived in China for more than 20 years, he is fluent in both Cantonese and Mandarin. Mr. Smith was one of the four founding members of the Pearl River Delta Chapter of YPO (Young Presidents Organization), and maintains homes in China and the US.

Craig Eatough, PhD

Craig Eatough, PhD is Ekocoke LLC’s Director of Technology and Chief Scientist.  Dr. Eatough is the lead and principal inventor, investigator and analyst for Ekocoke™ technologies, and is listed on all of the United States and international patents and patent applications that Ekocoke LLC holds or are pending. With over 25 years of experience in the hydrocarbon sciences, he has focused the last decade on developing and improving formed coke processes and methods. Dr. Eatough has lectured around the United States and published numerous articles on combustion science and technology.

Jon Heaton, BS BA

Jon Heaton is the Ekocoke LLC Director of Sales.  Mr. Heaton has worked in the coal and coke industry for over a decade and is a co-inventor of Ekocoke LLC’s proprietary manufacturing processes. Graduating with a degree in business, his work over the last 25 years has included the financial management, market development and sales of advanced technologies.

David A. McDougal, BS BA

David McDougal.   A recognized Utah entrepreneur, Mr. McDougal has more than three decades of experience in establishing and growing businesses.  Among these are companies involving human resources, insurance and advanced technologies, including a company he co-founded and recently sold to Goldman Sachs. He is also a large commercial real estate owner/developer. One of Mr. McDougal’s most notable and ongoing accomplishments is, while acting as its chairman for the last 30 years, developing the United States’ largest July 4th American Independence Day festival.
